This partnership aims to offer solutions for parking payments, transportation, and mobile services.
Building on the existing collaboration, this agreement expands Planet’s role from providing payment gateway services to delivering a range of payment solutions across card-present and ecommerce channels, while allowing Flowbird to offer a full range of payment methods, from major cards to digital wallets and local payment methods.
Utilising Flowbird’s mobility apps, parking meters, and transport ticket vending machines, the companies offer a unified solution across all payment options, including unattended terminals, EV charging stations, and digital transactions.
Users will also benefit from increased payment security and fraud prevention, offline authorisation, and a Flowbird support programme.
Both companies are committed to offering their common customers an integrated payment solution that allows for cross-channel and omnichannel scenarios and enhances the process for operators and customers.
The increased number of cars on the road, a lack of sufficient parking space, high levels of CO2 emissions, and high costs are just a few of the issues that drivers face when trying to find parking, especially in major metropolitan areas. This is why, in 2022, one in four parkers was using onsite digital payments, as this method is convenient and fast.
This adoption of digital payment solutions leads to traditional parking meters being replaced with mobile-based or digital solutions, which can be cost-effective for operators and city planners. Replacing ticketing machines lowers costs and eliminates the need for maintenance.
Another benefit of mobile payments for operators is the data and customer insights they can gather. This builds a relationship with the customers and builds engagement and loyalty.
