Following this deal, Wipay announced the arrival of the Pix Instant Payment System in the region of Europe, in collaboration with PayBrasil, a fintech company in the region. This strategic deal is expected to make transactions and payments more convenient and cost-effective for Brazilian tourists to these regions, as well as offering an optimised experience during their stay.
In addition, the companies will continue to focus on meeting the needs, preferences, and demands of clients and users in an ever-evolving market, while also prioritising the process of remaining compliant with the regulatory requirements and laws of the industry.
Throughout this partnership, these new opportunities for Pix payments will be available this year in the regions of Spain and Portugal as well, aiming to implement the first pilot of this optimised initiative in vending machines at Barcelona Airport. At the same time, visitors will have the possibility to make instant, quick, and secure payments by scanning a QR code, through Wipay’s technology and its integration with PagBrasil’s solution.
The expansion of Pix in Europe not only represents a significant advance in payment technology but also strengthens the ties between Europe and Brazil. The alliance with Wipay is also set to bring new payment methods to other countries and facilitate transactions for Brazilian tourists, as the incorporation of Pix is expected to further facilitate the overall boosting of the tourism sector, benefiting both individuals and local commerce, while also promoting optimised integration and convenience for travelers when choosing a destination.
At the same time, Wipay and PagBrasil have plans to expand this technology to other tourist and commercial points in the region of Europe.
