WLPayments partners with Payplug

As per the information detailed in the press release, the collaboration is set to allow the integration of Payplug’s capabilities into the WLPayments platform, leveraging the former’s direct connection to GIE Cartes Bancaires (CB), a France-based card network, and to Groupe BPCE, a Visa issuer in Europe.

As an omnichannel payment solution designed for merchants, e-tailers, and fintechs, Payplug’s technology platform includes dedicated conversion tools and expertise in the payment chain via its modules, API, and payment orchestrations. Currently, the company supports 17,000 merchants and groups, including Maisons du Monde, Veepee, and kiwi.com. With its operations headquartered in the Netherlands, and branch offices in India and Malta, WLPayments serves customers globally and it is committed to providing technology that offers businesses modular and cohesive payment solutions for processing payments online. The company’s platform is developed to be flexible and scalable, thus allowing businesses of all sizes to integrate payment processing into their websites or applications conveniently.

The partnership enables WLPayments’ customers to benefit from Payplug’s programmes, which can result in 98% of frictionless requests accepted on BPCE traffic and higher-than-average results for payments made via CB. Additionally, Payplug holds Visa and Mastercard licences and accepts payments in multiple currencies globally. According to WLPayments’ officials, by joining forces with Payplug, the company aims to elevate its payment offerings and continue to offer customers a flexible payment experience, especially now in the French market. The strategic collaboration supports WLPayments' commitment to delivering advanced solutions and improving the overall efficiency of transactions for its merchants and partners.

Furthermore, representatives from Payplug underlined that, through this alliance, the company integrates its solution into WLPayments’ ecosystem, thus enabling businesses to address the French and European markets efficiently by providing a simplified localised payment experience. Additionally, the partnership between WLPayments and Payplug advances both companies’ operations as they continue to develop their product suites and provide customised solutions that meet the evolving demands of the payment industry.

In addition to its collaboration with Payplug, WLPayments recently entered several partnerships to advance its development strategy. For example, at the beginning of February 2024, the company integrated Unlimit to create new opportunities for merchants and partners working with WLPayments. This was set to enable simplified access to expanding markets in Latin America and Asia through Unlimit Acquirer. Moreover, the collaboration was set to provide businesses with several acquiring solutions, consolidating multiple choices into a unified integration.
