UK-based foreign exchange company Travelex has launched new stores and partnerships across Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Brazil.

Following these launches, the company aims to offer its products and services to customers in these regions, as international aviation continues to rebound around the world post-pandemic.

According to the press release, Travelex launched more than 20 stores across all four continents.

UK-based foreign exchange company Travelex has launched new stores and partnerships across Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Brazil.

More details on the launch

In Europe, two new bureaux were opened at Frankfurt Airport, and another two at Schiphol Airport. All four stores also offer customers FX ATM services and tools. Through this launch, Travelex will operate nine sites at the Schiphol Airport, and fifteen sites at Frankfurt Airport, in total number.

In the UK, the ATM click&collect solution was expanded to all four operational Heathrow terminals, as well as another twenty-four at Manchester Airport and seven at Birmingham Airport. The solution was designed to give clients the possibility to pre-order their cash for collection while using the ATM before they get on the plane.

In Brazil, the company opened seven new bureaux, in Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo.

In the APAC region, Travelex opened eight new stores, such as retail stores at the Penang International Airport. Furthermore, the firm extended its partnership to operate its stores across arrivals, departures, and transit areas for another three years in Hong Kong.

Travelex also opened new bureaux in Australia, such as one in Brisbane, Albany, and Nelson, collaborating with the Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) as well, in order for the latter’s money services to be referred to Travelex.

In the Middle East, the firm launched a new store at Dubai International Airport (focused on serving FX and Vat Refund customers), as well as a new On the Move kiosk at Muscat Airport (opened to service clients that are using either the airport’s two premium lounges or the airport’s hotel). The new mobile store represents one of the two new expansions at the airport. The company aims to open a pre-immigration store later this year.

Travelex’s strategy of development

Provider of foreign exchange products, services, and tools, Travelex designed a network of ATMs and stores in numerous airports around the world, as well as shopping malls, transportation hubs, and city centres. Its online foreign exchange platform processes and offers multiple currency orders for financial institutions, banks, hotels, supermarkets, and enterprises globally.

In January 2012, the company partnered with US-based online travel agency Kayak for making the travel planning experience easier and more seamless for their clients. Throughout the collaboration, Travelex users from the UK and Australia were able to search for flights, hotel stays, and rental cars within the upgraded Travelex Money application.
