Satispay teams up with Stripe to augment payments for Italian businesses


As part of their collaboration, Satispay and Stripe are set to allow a selection of Italian online merchants leveraging the latter’s services to accept payments with Satispay, with them joining the growing community of over 350,000 retailers that are supporting their daily sales operations with the company’s solutions. Adopted by users across Italy, Luxembourg, and France, Satispay delivers a simplified and secure payment option for customers who can leverage its app to pay in physical or ecommerce shops more conveniently and efficiently.

Italy’s online payments ecosystem has expanded substantially in recent years, with the method being preferred by 6 out of 10 individuals in 2020. Considering this expansion and as more consumers switch to online shopping, businesses are presumed to upgrade and optimise their payment infrastructure.

 

Satispay and Stripe’s plans for assisting Italian businesses and customers

By strategically partnering, Satispay and Stripe aim to further improve the payment experience for merchants and consumers in the region, whilst solidifying the former’s presence and positioning it among Italy’s independent payment networks for international payment services providers and merchants to embed in their offering. Moreover, Satispay is committed to simplifying the payment experience for its users and maintaining increased levels of transparency. To leverage the firm’s solutions, users need to link their bank account to the Satispay app with an IBAN to send and receive money, with no card networks or other intermediaries involved in the process.

When commenting on the current news, officials from Satispay highlighted that teaming up with Stripe supports their company’s strategic approach to scaling its payment acceptance network and ensuring that its users continue to benefit from secure experience across a growing number of online stores. In addition to its collaboration with Stripe, Satispay recently entered numerous partnerships with industry participants, including Viva.com, with the two firms planning to expand the alternative payment options for merchants in Italy, France, and Luxembourg. Following the announcement made in May 2024, Viva.com and Satispay intended to focus on mitigating the barriers between he physical and online shopping experience for traders and customers.
