Wednesday 24 November 2021 12:35 CET | News

PayPal has joined the BNPL network launching its in-house service in Italy for purchases up to EUR 2,000, no documents needed.

Italian online market has experienced a significant growth with the take off several Buy Now, Pay Later services, including Klarna and Italian-based ScalaPay.

Now, PayPal has joined the game, offering its own three-month installment plan. According to the agreement, the first installment is paid immediately, while the following ones are paid the next months from the date of the signing of the loan agreement. Payments are made via a confirmed bank account, or a valid debit/ credit card linked to the customer’s PayPal account. Currently, the offer is only available for Italian customers. Clients also have the option to withdraw from the contract within 14 days.

In September 2021, PayPal officially entered the BNPL sector when it acquired Japanese company Paidy, a three-installment plan company designed for Asian customers.
