According to Internet Retailing, starting in May 2021, Flybuys’ members can use the Klarna app online and in-store when making their repayments, and earn 1 ‘vibe’ per AUD repaid, which converts to 3 Flybuys points. Therefore, thanks to the partnership, customers are rewarded by tripling their points collection and rewards potential.
This is the latest major partnership from Flybuys, which also developed and launched a new payments platform, Flypay, with supermarket Coles, in 2020. Furthermore, according to Klarna's officials, the partnership has been designed for 'modern customers' that desire more flexibility in payment options, while being rewarded for taking a certain option.
Overall, considering the economic environment where customers are looking to make the most out of each purchase, increasing the reach of a loyalty programme into different methods of payment could make it easier to onboard new customers, Internet Retailing stated.
