Facebook to support creators monetise their passions via payments tools available on the platform

Facebook’s CEO has announced that that paid online events, fan subscriptions, badges, and the social media platform’s upcoming product for independent news creators will be free for creators until 2023.

The announcement expresses the company’s support of creators to monetise their passions and grow using the payments tools available on the platform. Furthermore, when Facebook introduces revenue share in 2023, it will be less than the 30% that Apple and others typically take, according to an official social media post.

The company is also introducing a payout interface to help creators better understand their payouts. Starting with paid online events, creators will see what their payouts will be after taxes, refunds, and IAP fees from purchases made on iOS and Android devices where applicable. The interface will initially launch on Web only for paid online events.

2. the payout interface for paid online events showing what it will look like in 2022 with other companies’ fees
