The acquisition of Icefire and their 110 technology engineers will join Checkout.com’s global technology teams to accelerate the delivery of key products and features. The Tallinn office will become Checkout.com’s second-largest engineering hub, after its headquarters in London, UK, according to the press release. The investment will also serve Checkout.com’s merchants with in-market expertise, to empower Checkout.com’s merchants to scale in more markets.
Checkout.com provides payments in more than 150 currencies, with in-country acquiring, fraud filters and reporting through one API. The company launched in 2012 and now has a team of over 1300 people across 19 offices worldwide. Customers of the company include some of Europe’s top companies like Klarna, Revolut, Wise.
