Mt. Gox, AstroPay partner to deliver direct bank deposits

Japan-based Bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox has teamed up with Astropay, a payments company, to enable direct bank deposits from Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.

The partnership means that Bitcoin users in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay will now be able to make direct deposits to a host of local banks by connecting their Astropay and Mt. Gox accounts.Payments to supported banks are processed within one business day.

AstroPay works directly with many banks in Latin America to provide a method to use your local currency to add USD to your Mt.Gox account just by using your bank’s online banking service.

Bitcoin is a descentralised digital currency and payment network. The currency is controlled by cryptography rather than by any corporation or central bank. Created as an open-source software project, Bitcoin enables users to transfer funds instantly to any other Bitcoin account holder in the world.

In recent news, Mt. Gox has added to its platform a one-time password (OTP) card.
