Google Wallet adds P2P transfers via SMS

Tuesday 15 December 2015 00:43 CET | News

Google Wallet has enabled users to send and receive money by text message, eliminating the need to use an email address.

When users send money by text message, the recipient is directed to a webpage where they can enter their debit card information to claim the funds. Once the process is complete, the money appears in their bank account.

In order to use the feature, users are required to download the latest version of the Google Wallet app, which will rollout via the App Store and Google Play.

The app will rollout in stages on Android, while those on iOS should receive it simultaneously.
