US-based chain of convenience stores Cumberland Farms has launched a free SmartPay Check-Link payment program that allows users to pay for gas and in-store purchases using their mobile phones or by swiping a card.

SmartPay Check-Link is a new feature added to the SmartPay program and allows consumers to debit their checking account as a second payment option. Additionally, Smart-Pay Check-Link is available in both mobile and payment card format.

To enhance the SmartPay program , Cumberland Farms has partnered with the National Payment Card Association (NPCA).

In order to use the SmartPay Check-Link service, users need to download the mobile app or pick up a card at a Cumberland Farms location. Once their checking account information has been verified, they can swipe their SmartPay Check-Link card when filling up or launch the SmartPay app. The app will automatically locate the gas station where they are and allow them to turn on the pump from their phone.
