Walmart teams up with TikTok to sell while livestreaming

Monday 21 December 2020 13:06 CET | News

Walmart has announced its  partnership with the Chinese-owned video-sharing app TikTok to sell items seen on a livestream by creators featuring the retailer’s fashion merchandise.

When TikTok began exploring a new shoppable product, Walmart jumped in to pilot the solution. This means that during the Walmart livestream, the TikTok community was enabled to shop for Walmart fashion items featured in content from some of the app’s most popular creators without ever having to leave the platform.

During this livestream event, the TikTok creators were asked to reveal their favourite Walmart fashion finds via an inside look at their closet, a living room runway show or a fashion-forward dance-off. In addition, different styles and looks that can be found at Walmart were unwrapped, while a mix of national brands were showcasing: Champion, Jordache, Kendall + Kylie, and some private brands, including Free Assembly, Scoop, and Sofia Jeans.
