Sana Commerce report: Millennials and Gen Z change ecommerce

Friday 3 June 2022 10:25 CET | News

Ecommerce platform that offers SAP integration, Sana Commerce, has released the findings of its latest survey regarding ecommerce, with the participation of over 1,280 companies from the US and Europe.

According to the research, 90% of B2B buyers choose online channels as their primary method of identifying suppliers, with 75% of products now being purchased online, as opposed to only 62%, back in 2019. The number of online buyers is expected to continue its race for maintaining supremacy, as people are spending around 45% more money on online orders than before the pandemic.

Another interesting finding is that in 2019, email represented the most popular method of B2B buying, closely followed by ecommerce and phone orders. However, the positions shifted during the pandemic, making ecommerce the king of B2B shopping.

Out of those who prefer online shopping as opposed to other channels or traditional brick-and-mortar stores, Millennials lead the industry, closely followed by Gen Z. Both are tech savvy and expect high-quality online services, as well as a seamless, secure, and pleasant customer experience.

The report also stated that B2B expectations increased, as the B2C sector continues to improve and lead the way.

Sana Commerce integrates SAP, Microsoft Dynamics ERP, and ecommerce in one platform, eliminating the unnecessary complexities of the system. It is designed to help manufacturers, distributors, and wholesales to enhance customer relations.
