Japan-based online commerce and retailing company Rakuten Europe has announced the launch of a new cashback programme in the UK, Spain and Germany.
This programme is designed to introduce members to the services of the Rakuten Group. Rakuten.de is Rakuten's central platform in Germany and combines the existing Rakuten TV and Rakuten Viber services with more than 620 brands such as Idealo, Saturn, Otto, Rebuy, and Rewe into a bonus programme.
Previously, members could collect up to 30% of the purchase value in Rakuten Points when shopping on Rakuten.de. Customers can then use them by spending them on gift cards from IKEA, Douglas, Zalando, and other brands, watch movies on Rakuten TV or even convert the points into Viber Out credit. Starting today, Rakuten is rewarding every purchase with up to 30% cashback. According to a Rakuten Europe representative, the introduction of Cashback in Europe will attract new members and offer them a flexible reward system that corresponds to their individual shopping behaviour.
