miiCard joins the Open Identity Exchange

UK-based online identity verification service miiCard has joined the Open Identity Exchange (OIX), a US-based non-profit organization aimed at building trust in the exchange of online identity credentials across public and private sectors.

As a result, miiCard will leverage its global footprint to assist OIX in expanding an international network of trust frameworks. In addition, miiCard joins the UK’s Government’s Cabinet office Identity Assurance Programme (IDAP) as a fellow UK-based member of OIX.

miiCard’s online identity verification service allows consumers to track, monitor and manage their identity online. miiCard can prove a user’s identity and meets the Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Customer compliance standards. This process allows financial services and e-commerce websites to offer complete online applications and sign-ups for products and services that have historically required offline identity checks.

miiCard is powered by Yodlee, the Personal Finance Management (PFM) solution behind 85% of online users of bank and portal websites worldwide. OIX builds a system of protocols and processes to enable identity service providers and relying parties to interact within a framework. OIX develops in response to the White House’s National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) initiative.
