IDEMIA to provide credit cards to financial institutions in Japan

Monday 31 May 2021 11:34 CET | News

IDEMIA has announced that it will provide dual-interface credit cards to financial institutions in Japan.

The cards are certified by Visa, JCB, and other brand schemes. Furthermore, they are embedded with the JIS2 standard, a surface magnetic stripe on the card, to deliver boosted security and contactless payment services to end-users. IDEMIA has delivered the contactless dual-interface cards to fintech issuers such as UPSIDER and major issuers including Toyota Finance Corporation in Japan.

Issuers in Japan can also integrate IDEMIA’s contactless cards with the company’s portfolio of digital solutions, such as Smart PIN to get the card PIN issued through digital channels or Smart Instant Issuance to get the card delivered at a branch or in-store. Consumers can also benefit from IDEMIA Connect, which enables the activation of the card to be performed with a tap of the card on the phone.
