Splitit is in talks with Google over US payments

The Buy Now, Pay Later company said that any expansion of its existing partnership with Alphabet's Google to markets, including the US, would be funded by its existing USD 150 million facility with Goldman Sachs.

Splitit, which allows consumers to make instalment payments against unused credit on their existing credit-card accounts, added that its collaboration with Google in Japan had paved the way for an augmented case study of its service.

Since the December quarter of 2021, Japanese customers have been able to split Google Store payments for a Pixel 6 phone into equal monthly instalments. The company’s services are free of fees, applications, and credit checks. Splitit offers Instalments-as-a-Service for merchants, networks and issuers via a single network API.
