Samsung Pay ended its rewards programme in US

According to Business Insider, since 1 January 2020, the mobile wallet will only offer rewards for purchases made at Samsung-branded outlets such as Samsung.com or the Samsung Galaxy Store, or by visiting special locations announced by Samsung Pay, meaning that outside of Samsung outlets, users will no longer benefit from reward points for Samsung Pay transactions or gift card purchases.

Moreover, the tier scheme that enables Samsung Pay users to get a higher rate of rewards based on the number of points earned is also cancelled  due to the ending of the rewards programme.

However, the funds that might've gone toward maintaining its US rewards programme could provide Samsung Pay with other growth opportunities in markets outside of the US – like India, where mobile payments have been on the rise – Business Insider reported.
