Payconiq launches in-app QR payments donation option in Belgium

The initiative, launched in collaboration with the King Baudouin Foundation, aims to stimulate a new way of raising funds and especially to make young people aware of good causes. 28 different charities, active in 6 different social themes, are participating in the campaign.

The option will be available starting October 2021. If users open the Payconiq by Bancontact application itself and go to the `Services` section, it is not necessary to scan a QR code. According to Payconiq, the process aims to be easier than the classic bank transfer, which prevents many people from making a small donation. After the October campaign, it will still be possible to make a donation via the application and the Scanforchange.be website.

Scan for Change QR codes can now be scanned using the KBC Mobile, CBC Mobile and ING Banking banking apps, in which the Payconiq payment method is integrated.  Between January and August 2021, 125 million mobile payments were made with the Payconiq by Bancontact app or a banking app that integrated the Bancontact and / or Payconiq means of payment.
