Nike to temporarily close its stores in Russia

The sportswear maker is one of the latest Western brands to temporarily shut down its operations in the Russian Federation, following on the footsteps of other retail and tech giants, including Apple, IKEA, Airbnb, Spotify, Google, Volkswagen, and Oracle.

The latest decision of Nike covers both Nike-owned and operated stores across the country, while the merchandise purchases on its website and app are also banned. Moreover, the company will donate USD 1 million to the United Nations Children’s Fund and the International Rescue Committee to support the Ukrainian victims.
