Nike reveals that shoppers are returning to stores in Asia

The company reported a rare drop in Chinese quarterly revenues cushioned by stronger ecommerce sales. However, Nike sees an increase in the number of consumers coming back in the stores, although they are ‘often wearing facemasks’. During the peak of the Covid-19 crisis in China, 75% of Nike-owned stores were closed in the country, but now nearly 80% of its Nike and affiliated stores in China are open.

The sporting goods company said it would press on with some new product launches originally tied to the Olympics, which became the latest event to be officially postponed because of the global pandemic.
