Klook and Mastercard have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to bring travel benefits to Mastercard cardholders across Asia Pacific.
The collaboration is structured around three areas: cardholder value, travel and lifestyle opportunities, and payment experience development. According to the companies, the initiatives respond to shifting traveller expectations in Asia Pacific, based on findings from Klook's Travel Pulse 2026 research.
Traveller behaviour trends
The Travel Pulse 2026 findings point to a growing overlap between value-seeking and experience-led travel. The research found that 47% of Asia Pacific consumers actively look for deals, discounts, and bundled offers, while 42% book in advance to secure better prices. More than half of respondents said they no longer begin planning with a specific destination in mind, while 23% said they choose a destination based on a particular activity, and 73% said they would consider visiting a lesser-known city for a unique event.
Initial offers and future plans
As part of the MoU, Klook and Mastercard plan to introduce discounts and privileges for Mastercard cardholders ahead of the year-end travel period. The companies described this phase as the starting point for a wider pipeline of entertainment-related benefits, with further initiatives to be announced as the collaboration progresses.
Eric Gnock Fah, Co-Founder and President of Klook, said the partnership combines Klook's experiences platform with Mastercard's payments network, with the stated aim of giving travellers more value and reducing planning time. Furthermore, Peter Robejsek, Executive Vice President for Market Development, Asia Pacific at Mastercard, said the collaboration reflects an approach in which technology, payments, and experiences are combined to support more personalised journeys across the region.
Next steps
Klook and Mastercard said they will explore further collaboration in areas including data sharing and next-generation payment technology. The companies said the goal is to continue developing joint offers for travellers across Asia Pacific.
