Deutsche Kreditbank app launches in the public beta

The focus of the new app is to optimise mobile use. All authentication processes are done biometrically, for example by fingerprint, meaning a TAN is no longer necessary. Previously, the app had only covered the core functions of DKB banking. So far, the app has been tested in a closed circle of testers. For Android users, the app has been launched in the Google Play Store with the appropriate ‘Early Access’ label. A Testflight link is available to iOS user beta testers. According to a representative of the company, the number of testers is limited to 20,000 participants.

The new app is developed from scratch and focuses on optimising mobile use. Customers use a 5-digit app PIN for the app, which can be chosen during setup. The app provides an overview of users financial status, facilitates SEPA transfers and allows personalised card security settings to be chosen. The approval of online payments via Visa Secure is already integrated and deactivated credit cards are no longer displayed in the app. Currently, however, the old app can still be used in parallel.
