Cellum integrates m-payments offering into Apples iOS6 Passbook app

Passbook is a new application built into Apple’s iOS6 mobile operating system. Passbook was intended to store and organize a user’s ‘passes’, which may include boarding passes, store cards, gift cards & coupons and well as movie tickets.

Cellum’s newly developed solution enables bank cards to be used via Passbook for mobile payments worldwide. As a result, iPhone users are set to be able to integrate their bank cards into their Passbook system and then use those bank cards for purchasing.

Cellum was founded in 2000 and it provides services across areas of m-commerce, including mobile purchasing, mobile payment and contactless NFC technologies. In October 2011, Cellum has been selected by MasterCard to implement a mobile payment service in Hungary. The planned m-payment app is set to be made available on four platforms, namely iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile and RIM.
