Worldline launches Mobility Payments Suite

Wednesday 19 July 2023 12:03 CET | News

France-based global payments services provider Worldline has launched a mobility payments suite looking to facilitate consistent payments and increase access to mobility for all.

Per the press release information, Worldline Mobility Payments Suite is an end-to-end solution that provides an improved, hassle-free, and secure payment experience for all mobility operators, together with their customers.

Worldline Mobility Payments Suite capabilities

As consumers might leverage more than one form of transport to complete a journey, Worldline has developed payment capabilities that seek to support multi-modal mobility and unify different providers into a single ecosystem. Per the press release information, Worldline Mobility Payments Suite includes various experiential enhancements to address all payment needs.

The platform incorporates payment acceptance through a dedicated gateway at each point and sale channel, be that face-to-face over the counter, via a ticket vending machine, or online, both via mobile and web. Situated proactively behind this is Worldline’s advanced fraud management capability, which leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning to protect consumers and providers alike. Furthermore, commercial acquiring helps ensure efficient and secure management and settlement of transactions to the bank accounts of potentially multiple providers within the mobility ecosystem. Additionally, transaction management of electronic payment activities is aggregated through a unique portal to have transparency and convenience ensured. As such, simple and hassle-free payments come as an added value in creating frictionless customer experiences.

Launch context

Increasingly smart and accessible public transport is believed to bring forth macroeconomic benefits such as the creation of a more equitable society, reduction in humankind’s negative impact on the planet, as well as the fabrication of opportunities for future generations. However, the modal shift from private to public transport is dependent on a smooth customer experience, and any friction comes as an obstacle for the customer. As such, ensuring that the payment process is simple is a way in which transport providers and authorities can better things.

Today’s consumer expects relevant personalisation, without having privacy compromised, coming from the notable progress that has been taking place within the retail and hospitality markets. As Worldline has been activating in these markets, its experience has been fed into the Mobility Payments Suite to provide the mobility market with this type of customer experience.

Sebastien Givry, Head of Mobility, Merchant Services at Worldline advised that Worldline’s role as a payment service provider is to facilitate and simplify all customers’ journeys, and ultimately better travel through payments. Per their statement, when customers make a purchase or journey, they expect the best and most efficient payment means to be accepted, and with an ambition to combine innovation and CSR, Worldline seeks to provide high-quality payment services to support the fast-changing mobility sector. The spokesperson added that the Mobility Payments Suite enables them to provide operators and their customers alike with the most recent, simplified, and secure solution currently available.
