More insights on the launch and the food service industry

The global food service market was projected to almost double, from USD 2.65 trillion in 2023 to USD 5.42 trillion by 2030, according to Fortune Business Insights. Particularly within the European restaurant sector, there is an undergoing pivotal transformation that is driven by technology and the overall digitalisation of services. This process aims to focus on the improvement of customers’ dining experience, as well as the streamlining of operational efficiency. In addition, there is a demand for companies to meet the needs, preferences, and expectations of clients by reducing wait times.

This includes the fact that there has been a 65% development in online foot orders and a total of 31% increase in takeaway solutions since the pandemic. The transformation influences the development process of restaurants as well since they need to change their traditional eating spaces into technologically advanced environments where customers can benefit from payment technologies that are integrated into their overall experience.

The change also led to the design and development of comprehensive, secure, and immersive experiences that include physical and digital services, including not only augmented reality and AI-driven meal recommendations but also the integration of the dining experience within digital platforms.

The new Worldline Food Services Payments Suite was created in order to provide customers with an improved engagement experience, particularly at the checkout moments, as the service uses data-driven analytics which is often powered by artificial intelligence in order to make the process more personalised on the client’s needs and preferences. At the same time, the tool answers the customers’ food and beverage use cases, including developments and trends within the industry by facilitating digital solutions, such as QR codes, in-app payments, or digital wallets.

In addition, the product enabled extended connectivity into the food services ecosystem by using client data and information. This integrates closely with the hardware and the maintenance partners of the company in order to deliver more targeted and appropriate features for users, as well as to grow a loyal customer base.
