VersaCheck.com rolls out DNA Secure check system

The VersaCheck X1 service provides users with financial account protection and withdrawal alerts. Online merchants and users of Quicken, QuickBooks, Peachtree and other finance software can also benefit from DNA Secure check safeguards through integration with VersaCheck X1 software.

The DNA Secure check system is set to reject unauthorized users. After the online validation step, users will be enabled to print DNA Secure and online verifiable checks from their validated accounts. Validation is performed via a novel 1 cent draft transaction which is associated with a random 4 (for personal accounts) to 6 digit draft number (for business accounts). The user has to report back the drafts’ number which is displayed only to the authorized account holders in two places: the user’s check account statement AND as the hard copy or image file of cleared demand draft drawn on the account. The validation draft also displays a warning to only report back directly to the validation platform online, to prevent any unauthorized third party interference. In case of unauthorized account access, validated users can HALT verification processing and disable DNA Secure check printing features for the account.

DNA Secure checks can be automated for merchants who, once authorized, are able connect to the validation web service. The process is designed in a similar way for credit card authorization procedure using an online gateway. During output, VersaCheck X1 verifies authenticity and designs a personalized print pattern to enable the DNA Secure checks to optically stand out. This custom check design contains replicated check data embedded within the design to uniquely individualize each check with non-reproducible patterns. The personalized digital print patterns, combined with an online verification process, are set to alert users of impending check account activity and allow merchants to verify a check’s authenticity before deposit.
