The UK’s payment landscape is currently rapidly evolving, as debit card payments now dominate and account for 50% of transactions. In addition, the shift away from cash is expected to continue, reaching 7% of total transaction volume by 2032. As checkout experiences become more customer-centric, businesses and companies are increasingly adopting more simplified, secure, and efficient payment tools to improve customer convenience and streamline operations.

According to the official press release, the collaboration represents an important step in UnionPay’s commitment to providing cardholders with convenient and reliable payment options around the world. The deal with Dojo will also strengthen its presence in the UK, enabling more firms to accept UnionPay and enhancing payment accessibility for global clients. Both companies will continue to focus on meeting the needs, preferences, and demands of customers and users in an ever-evolving market, while prioritising the process of remaining compliant with the regulatory requirements and laws of the industry as well.

In addition, the partnership also marks a significant development in expanding UnionPay International’s footprint in the UK, while aligning with its broader strategy to improve global payment connectivity as well.
