This programme combines Tymit’s instalment credit technology with Harley-Davidson’s brand appeal and will be available to the public from March 2024. Moreover, through this, cardholders will have access to a variety of rewards, particularly on Harley-Davidson products and services. As per the official press release, this partnership is a significant step for Tymit, as it continues to expand its footprint in the UK and prepares for international expansion.
According to the official announcement, the new card features a three-month interest-free offer on all purchases made at authorised Harley-Davidson dealers and on H-D.com. Moreover, this merchant-linked instalment feature on a credit card is designed to provide merchants with a regulated alternative to BNPL solutions.
In addition, this programme will be launched with two credit card options tailored to resonate with Harley-Davidson’s customer base: the H-D Ultra Card (a Visa Platinum credit card) and the H-D Classic Card (a Standard Visa credit card). This will be available initially in the UK, but it is projected to be rolled out in other European territories in the future.
The H-D Freedom Rewards programme is a mobile-first loyalty experience that provides significant rewards for purchases, especially on Harley-Davidson products and services. On making purchases, cardholders can earn loyalty points that can be redeemed for Harley-Davidson products and services both online and in-dealership. The loyalty points can be used to purchase over 3,000 parts and accessories, as well as more than 1,500 apparel items.
Moreover, Tymit's technology platform will help merchants create bespoke instalment credit programmes for their customers under their brand.
Tymit is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Payments Service Regulator (PSR) in the UK to provide consumer credit and payment services and has proven instalment card operating experience. This makes Tymit one of the first regulated BNPL providers in the UK. Tymit’s proprietary platform was built entirely in-house and provides end-to-end capabilities from onboarding and activation to engagement and servicing.
On a venture to expand its suite of products and services, Tymit announced several developments and partnerships in recent months. At the beginning of February 2024, Tymit announced its Open Banking partnership with Equifax to provide affordability decisions and BNPL transparency for its credit card products in the UK. Moreover, in July 2023, the company partnered with Visa to support the adoption of instalment credit among large financial institutions.
