Trusted Security Solutions and S2 Systems Announce Joint Initiative

S2 Systems has entered into a joint initiative with Trusted Security Solutions (TSS) to help OpeN/2 customers meet industry requirements for unique keys and Triple-DES. The A98 solution will also provide S2 users a cost effective migration to remote keying of ATMs.

Financial institutions are challenged today to upgrade security, functionality and performance under the duress of network compliance standards and operating rules while battling reduced operating budgets. ATM operators are under especially challenging directives to provide a unique B-key per each machine that encrypts PINs -- as well as load an initial unique A-key used to encrypt the PIN-encrypting key. S2 Systems OpeN/2 A98 interface enables customers to meet these formidable hurdles in any kind of environment scenario and avoid the complexity of traditionally employed key management procedures. TSS A98 helps OpeN/2 customers avoid the traditional logistics problems associated with key management and meet industry mandates, including the Visa directive requiring a unique initial key per ATM. S2s OpeN/2 A98 interface enables customers to update the keys in the database to correspond to the A98 keys established at the ATM. This is accomplished by entering the cryptogram and key check value for an ATM. In addition, the A98 platform will enable S2 System customers to take advantage of the latest ATM technology for remote re-keying of terminals using public key cryptography. The upcoming A98-R remote key module implements both the Certificate Based Protocol (CBP) used by Diebold ATMs and the Signature Based Protocol (SBP) used by NCR ATMs. With A98-R, OpeN/2 users will have the most efficient key management system available, in a single solution, for both legacy ATMs and the newest public key-enabled ATMs. S2 Systems OpeN/2 A98 interface is already in production and is available to new and existing customers. OpeN/2 continues to garner industry attention as an agile authorization and transaction switching engine that enables organizations to leverage leading edge operating systems, relational database and hardware technologies to deliver a greater return on investment.
