Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Suite v2.0 now offers improved Internet gateway security for Web users with new capabilities for anti-phishing, anti-spyware, and URL filtering. Anti-phishing As a complementary line of defense to inbound SMTP-focused email scanning solutions, Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Suite v2.0 is designed to prevent users from becoming victims of phishers, who send out seemingly legitimate emails that are designed to deceive users to go to fake Web sites and give out personal information such as credit card numbers or passwords. InterScan Web Security Suite enables IT administrators to stop users from going to such Web sites. Spyware Spyware, typically designed to capture and send information about a users Web surfing habits, can also be created for malicious purposes, like establishing backdoors, recording keystrokes, and capturing personal information. Trend Micros scanning engine is designed to block known malicious spyware and allows IT administrators to block other unwanted spyware, helping to protect corporate data, passwords, email addresses and confidential information, free system resources and reduce spyware-associated crashes. URL Filtering By reducing inappropriate Web usage, companies can more productively use network resources, increase employee productivity, and reduce exposure to security threats and potential legal liability. A new, optional URL Filtering module in Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Suite v2.0 allows organizations to enforce Web usage policies under one simplified, secure and coordinated management console. As part of Trend Micro Enterprise Protection Strategy, Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Suite integrates with other Trend Micro products and services, such as Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security Suite for SMTP scanning and Trend Micro Control Manager for centralized management, to deliver a flexible easy-to-manage set of tools for outbreak prevention, management, and reporting. Pricing and Availability Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Suite v2.0 is available for Microsoft Windows NT, and is currently offered in an English language interface. Availability of Linux and Solaris versions are expected in Q3 2004. Pricing begins at $16 USD per user for 25 users. Pricing for the optional URL Filtering module also begins at $16 USD per user.
