Following this announcement, Travelex replaced the hardware and software of its entire portfolio of 600 ATMs across eight countries. The portfolio is expected to unlock a wide range of optimised and secure features for the company’s customers, including contactless cash withdrawals.
In addition, Travelex will continue to focus on meeting the needs, preferences, and demands of clients and users in an ever-evolving market, while prioritising the process of remaining compliant with the regulatory requirements and laws of the local industry as well.
Throughout this initiative, Travelex is set to replace its network of ATMs with NCR Atleos’ SelfServ ATM range, alongside NCR Atleos’ software and SaaS monitoring tool called Vision, across the regions of the UK, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Australia, and New Zealand.
In addition to supporting FX and domestic currency transactions, the NCR Atleos SelfServ ATMs are expected to offer Travelex clients a range of optimised capabilities, including touch screens (rather than traditional buttons), barcode readers, as well as contactless readers in certain territories.
Contactless readers will provide clients with the possibility to withdraw cash by tapping a card or any other NFC-enabled device. This ability to withdraw cash without physically inserting a card is not yet widespread across multiple regions but is expected to be offered to Travelex users across select ATMs in some of the European markets.
At the same time, the NCR Atleos SelfServ ATM will also support Travelex’s Click and Collect function, which was developed to enable customers in the UK to pre-order foreign cash online at Travelex’s best possible rate before collecting it from more than 50 key airport ATM locations in the UK.
