French Retaile Système U will start using Wincor Nixdorfs new retail software, TP.net, across its network starting next year.

Système U’s aim is to reduce the total cost of ownership of its new solution throughout the entire product life cycle. The pilot installation in one of its 850 stores is to be carried out as early as January 2005. In TP.net, Wincor Nixdorf has developed a software product able to handle the strategic requirements of international retail. TP.net is based on standard technologies such as XML, the OPOS peripheral control model and the Microsoft .NET development standard. The solution also offers an extensive range of functionality. These characteristics allow TP.net to be used in various different store systems and guarantee that innovative checkout concepts will be supported. The extensive adaptation and configurations possibilities enable TP.net’s functionality to be enhanced easily and so adapted in line with country-specific and customer-specific requirements. The standard product remains unaltered. The simple, intuitive operation of the solution via its touchscreen user interface was a further selling point for Système U. TP.net also comes with a flexible, powerful discounting and promotions module.
