Suncorp banks on ATMs from Diebold Australia

Tuesday 4 May 2004 11:01 CET | News

Diebold has successfully completed the initial phase of its contract to provide Australian Bank Suncorp with advanced-function automated teller machines (ATMs) and service support.

Under the terms of the contract, Diebold is supplying the bank with 136 new ATMs and will service the banks entire ATM fleet for at least the next three years. The new Diebold ATMs, which replace a number of different terminals, include EPP4 Encrypting PIN Pads for Triple DES (triple encryption for increased security) security. The ATMs also offer larger colour screens, faster speed and a more logical layout of hardware - a feature the bank says is attracting positive feedback from customers. Diebold has serviced Suncorps ATMs, including machines from several different manufacturers, for more than four years through a subcontracting arrangement. The new project sees Diebold providing services directly to Suncorp, with a network of skilled technicians on-call across Queensland and New South Wales to ensure the ATMs sustained availability.
