Stony Brook University Hospital Maximizes Fiscal Health With InfoGenesis

InfoGenesis has installed Revelation point-of-sale (POS) solution at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York.

The project, which replaced an existing POS solution, includes installation of IBM SurePOS 500 touch screen terminals and Microsoft Windows and SQL Server software to manage all food and beverage transactions throughout the property. Stony Brook University Hospital management decided to replace their previous POS system with a solution that could not only streamline transactions, but also provide a more accurate allocation of revenue and expenses. Additionally, Stony Brook wanted to use technology to speed service, make practical decisions about business performance and product management, and improve customer satisfaction. Revelation is installed by InfoGenesis as an application service provider (ASP) solution that exploits powerful Microsoft .NET technology. It is installed in six profit centers throughout the hospital including a deli, kiosk, restaurant, and two cafes. As an ASP solution, Revelation frees management to focus on running their business, instead of managing hardware and configuration upgrades. In addition to the IBM touch screen terminals, the hospital also installed easy-to-use Symbol scanners to speed service and reduce errors. Revelations real-time reporting has empowered Stony Brooks management to make proactive global business decisions to save money, as well as on the floor decisions from live report information. Revelation reports include sales history information, forecasting for planning and production, and enterprise-wide information collection.
