S2 Systems OpeN/2 now supports Linux on IBMs multi-environment eServer iSeries platform, including IBMs recently announced eServer i5, fueled with the IBM POWER5 microprocessor. S2 Systems architectural framework for enterprise payments is a compelling alternative for institutions that want to revitalize the branch channel but are overwhelmed by the high cost of managing large server farms. Organizations can leverage OpeN/2 with IBM iSeries servers to consolidate multiple workloads into an integrated Linux environment and extend applications running on OS/400 and the next generation OS/400, i5/OS, to an "on demand" world with a more consistent customer-centric view. The newest technology initiatives from S2 Systems and IBM allow enterprises to virtualize external resources, leverage existing skill base, help reduce complexity and dramatically help lower costs. OpeN/2 for Linux on iSeries can also utilize the power of IBMs industry leading DB2 Universal Database and WebSphere Internet infrastructure software as the development environment for launching new integrated channel-based applications, as well as deliver web services and integrate autonomic features into existing products.
