Retail Technologies Corporation (RTC), has joined IBMs ISV Advantage Initiative, a program designed to provide independent software vendors (ISVs) with technical and marketing support to help meet the specific information technology needs of small and medium business (SMB) companies.Customers are seeking solutions that help them better integrate processes and applications internally and externally and allow them to quickly respond to changing market opportunities on demand. RTC provides software solutions for retailers including their StoreMS Application Suite (Point-of-Sale, Customer Loyalty Rewards, Gift Card, Credit/Debit/Check Authorization, and Gift Registry), an iSeries Communications Management/Polling Solution, and the Loss Prevention Analyzer. Together, these provide a total in-store solution, the communication capability between the headquarters iSeries and the stores, and the ability to monitor cashier transaction activity to help minimize the exposure to potential employee theft. Enabling both the Loss Prevention Analyzer and the iSeries Communications Management System (HTP-Link) on IBM eServer iSeries platform running WebSphere will help RTC expand into the SMB market faster and more effectively than is possible with proprietary platforms. The IBM WebSphere family includes products that are designed and priced specifically for small and medium businesses -- easy to install and manage, scalable to grow with a business, rich in functionality, and based on open standards to allow integration with existing software and hardware platforms. RTC will also work closely with IBM to expand its visibility in target vertical industries through various co-marketing and sales activities.
