RBS Lynk Launches Payments Unplugged Product Line

Tuesday 3 May 2005 17:27 CET | News

RBS Lynk has introduced Payments Unplugged as its new line of wireless payment solutions, designed to accept credit cards virtually anywhere, at any time.

MobileLynk, a new wireless payment terminal, is the first wireless product to be introduced in the Payments Unplugged product line. Wireless payments via MobileLynk dramatically expand payment options, speed and flexibility for businesses around the country. The MobileLynk solution securely processes transactions, within five to seven seconds, by transmitting encrypted payment information to RBS Lynk’s proprietary processing platform over a national wireless network. The MobileLynk solution combines a cellular phone with a docking sled that has a built-in magnetic credit card reader and printer. Wireless data service for MobileLynk subscribers is available through several carriers including Sprint, Verizon, AT&T or Cingular Wireless. MobileLynk features include acceptance of all major credit cards, SSL encryption, real-time authorizations, receipt printing and electronic signature capture. Electronic signature capture eliminates the need for merchants to keep up with duplicate receipts and provides an electronic image of the customer’s signature that can assist in resolving chargeback inquiries. In addition, MobileLynk subscribers have access to Lynk VT, RBS Lynk’s proprietary Internet-based virtual terminal for reporting, application enhancements or for use as an additional POS terminal. As part of the Payments Unplugged offering, MobileLynk users gain access to the Lynk VT service for no additional charge.
