RBC launches P2P e-money transfers to Facebook Messenger

Thursday 12 December 2013 10:12 CET | News

Canadian financial institution RBC has launched a person-to-person (P2P) electronic money transfer solution which enables customers to send money to Facebook Messenger contacts, from within the RBC Canada application.

With the partnership with Facebook, RBC’s application allows customers to send an Interac e-Transfer without sharing personal or financial information, directly to their contacts on Facebook Messenger.

Through the RBC Canada app, customers can select a friend or family member from their Facebook Messenger friend list, transfer the funds and provide a message for the receiver. The receiver will receive a message in their Messenger inbox, and will be directed to log in to the financial institution of their choice to deposit the funds.
