Precise Biometrics has received two orders for an US state pilot ID program. The orders are primarily for licenses of the companys technology for fingerprint matching on smart cards, Precise Match-on-Card. The project value for Precise Biometrics is about MSEK 1,5. Under terms of the US state pilot ID program, Precise Biometrics will supply licenses for the companys technology for fingerprint matching on smart cards, Precise Match-on-Card, for a total of 90,000 users. The orders also include a small number of combined fingerprint and smart card readers as well as technical development work. Initial pilot programs will be deployed and run until the end of 2004. From that, the official solution for the state will be chosen and start during 2005. This rollout will assist several million users. The Precise Match-on-Card fingerprint technology makes it possible to store and match fingerprints directly on a smart card. This means increased security while preserving privacy, as the user never needs to feel concerned that their fingerprint could be stolen or abused because it is never kept in a database beyond the individuals control. Precise Match-on-Card is especially suitable for corporate ID cards, national ID cards and bank cards.
