Gunnebo Entrance Control and Precise Biometrics are demonstrating a multibiometric verification system developed on a non-exclusive basis by Precise Biometrics for use in electronic border-control applications at this exhibition. The system is able to read and validate the holder of the new electronic passports in accordance with standards now being introduced in many countries around the world. The unit has been developed as part of Gunnebo Entrance Controls automated immigration concept, ImmSec. The verification demonstrator optionally takes the facial, fingerprint or iris information stored in a contactless ePassport and verifies against the person standing in the gate. Gunnebo Entrance Controls system ensures there is only one person in the gate and the Precise Biometrics subsystem verifies the identity of that person against the contactless passport presented to the system. The stand at IFSEC also shows a live capture station of the acquisition of the biometric data and the storage into an ePassport in accordance with the specifications of the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).
