Postilions ATM driving system to be deployed in active/active environments

Thursday 17 April 2008 14:10 CET | News

Banking and payment processing services supplier Postilion has upgraded its ATM driving system which can be implemented in an active/active environment, providing ATM network availability.

Two production systems manage transactions at the same time across the entire ATM estate in an active/active Postilion environment. One Postilion system handles traffic from some ATMs, while the other one receives transactions from other ATMs. Thus, financial institutions are able to direct transaction loads towards two systems based on operational requirements. An active/active Postilion ATM driving system can also work as a disaster recovery tool. In case of failures involving a communications, network, server or other data center disruption, both servers are capable of managing the transaction load. An active/active Postilion deployment does not imply the interruption of the banking service from the cardholders perspective.
