Plan International deploys EigerPAY Gateway

Tuesday 16 November 2004 13:06 CET | News

Plan International has successfully completed the deployment of EigerPAY Gateway from Eiger Systems. EigerPAY Gateway will enable Plan International to utilise BACSTEL-IP, scheduled to replace the existing BACSTEL service by 31st December 2005.

Plan International is heavily reliant on donations made by members of the general public to support its work. A significant element of this is child sponsorship and because donors typically pay a fixed monthly sum, it was imperative that the transition to BACSTEL-IP did not impact on the charity’s processing of over 1,000,000 Direct Debits each year. As with most charities, Plan International is also conscious of its responsibility to minimise its administrative overheads and maximise the value of every donation. Without regular donations from the public, the work of Plan International would be significantly disrupted, so any transition had to be seamless to ensure the collection of Direct Debits was not interrupted. Early migration to BACSTEL-IP has ensured that the project received the appropriate resources, in turn enabling its Direct Debit collection to continue smoothly. Furthermore, Eiger Systems’ implementation of EigerPAY Gateway was completed comfortably within schedule and has now been running successfully for 6 months. In addition to using the BACSTEL-IP technology for collection of Direct Debits, Plan International will also submit around 20,000 AUDDIS (Automated Direct Debit Instruction Service) transactions per annum to initiate the Direct Debit process automatically.
