PINned Debit European Patent

Sunday 12 October 2003 20:47 CET | News

InstaPay Systems has announced that the process of nationalizing its European patent in major European countries has been completed.

This underlines the importance and uniqueness of the processes used by InstaPay Systems payENKRYPT service. payENKRYPT is the first and so far only service that enables Web merchants to accept PIN debit payments, thereby lowering their cost and fraud risk for online payments. In February of this year, InstaPay announced that the European Patent Office had notified them that their patent was allowable. Now, by completing the Nationalization of that Patent in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, InstaPay has ensured that they can take effective legal action against anyone who attempts to offer a service or operate a system in these countries that violates our patent. Info on the patent can be viewed at the European Patent Offices online database at http://www.epoline.org/ by searching the patent register for patent EP1218865.
