Phishing scams have become one of the biggest threats to Internet users. These consist of using false email messages, pop-ups and websites to steal personal financial data, such as account numbers, passwords or PINs, etc. Phishing is a problem that is growing rapidly. According to APWG data, these kinds of attacks increased by 180 percent between April and May 2004, demonstrating that more cyber-crooks are turning to this kind of bait to commit fraud online. Phishing frauds are getting more and more common and it would not be an exaggeration to say that they are one of the main threats faced by users when they browse the Internet or use email.
