Over 15 Million Canadians went Shopping Online in November 2004

In the month of November 2004, 15,751,000 Canadians visited entities in the Retail category.

The visitors to the online Retail category now represent approximately half of the total Canadian population. Furthermore, the average Retail visitor spends an hour and twenty minutes in the month shopping, and looks at an average of 164 pages of content. An analysis of growth in the Retail category from September 2004 to November 2004 found that some of the large brands in Canada have seen some major increases within the festive season. The increased traffic is a strong sign of increased consumer knowledge and shopping activity. From a demographic perspective, a number of entities have proven successful at reaching the shopper friendly target of Persons 25-49 with a household income of $60,000 or more. Below are a number of examples of the retailers that have been especially successful in reaching this coveted target online. From the below chart we are able to see that 35.6 % of visitors to CHAPTERS.INDIGO.CA are Persons 25-49 with a household income of $60,000 or more.
