Wednesday 10 December 2003 09:22 CET | News

Oracle has partnered with PEOPLink to power the newest release of PEOPLinks CatGen (Catalog Generator) e-commerce platform for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in emerging economies. These enterprises of limited technical and financial resources can now experience the economic opportunity and prosperity of e-commerce experienced by many first-world businesses. CatGen enables any enterprises located anywhere to create and maintain their own e-commerce catalog and link it into CatGens e-commerce marketplaces. The Oracle software manages and performs the powerful and complex searches of the e-commerce database currently used by thousands of users in 42 developing countries. Current implementations range from a Brazilian cooperative (www.catgen.com/douropreto) selling embroidery world-wide to a tourism marketplace in Cambodia (www.angkorhotels.org) with thousands of dollars per week of online bookings.
