NCR Appoints RFID solutions Vice President

NCR Corporation announced it has appointed John Greaves as vice president, RFID Solutions.

As head of NCRs global RFID consulting practice, Greaves will be responsible for helping retailers and manufacturers define and navigate the RFID course that best meets their individual goals. He will also provide strategic leadership to NCRs RFID initiatives across all company divisions, bringing to bear a full range of products and services designed to maximize the companys RFID investment. Greaves will report to Lee Schram, senior vice president of NCRs Retail Solutions Division and NCRs executive sponsor for RFID. NCR addresses RFID implementation from production through the point of sale by providing RFID labeling solutions, store consulting, global installation and support services and Teradata data warehousing and analytics. Prior to joining NCR, Greaves led the Global RFID Technology Integration consulting practice at Deloitte Touche, where he designed and developed numerous cross-spectrum RFID solutions for companies worldwide. He was the founding chairman of USA RFID Standards, and served as Director-General of the European UHF RFID Spectrum Allocation Initiative to modify the allocation and use of UHF for short-range devices in Europe. NCR has more than 120 years of retail expertise, with proven leadership in numerous areas that will be crucial in the RFID evolution, including bar-code scanning and RF-enabled electronic shelf-label solutions. NCR also is one of the initial sponsors of EPCglobal (formerly the Auto-ID Center).
