NCR and Partners Offer Electronic Shelf Labels to French Drug Stores

Friday 9 April 2004 10:17 CET | News

NCR Corporation and Symag have announced an agreement to offer NCR RealPrice electronic shelf labels (ESLs) to drug stores in France.

Symag is partnering with Alliadis, a value-added reseller that specializes in pharmaceutical software, to market NCR RealPrice to independent pharmacies. NCR RealPrice was installed in 20 independent pharmacies in France during 2003, and Symag expects approximately 30 additional drug stores to order the solution by the end of 2004. Wireless NCR RealPrice ESLs are linked to the same computer file used by the stores POS system, so shoppers are assured that when their purchases are scanned at checkout, the price will match the price in the aisle. Price changes can be implemented with a few computer keystrokes, enabling stores to effectively implement price changes while saving the time and the expense of replacing paper labels. In addition, NCR RealPrice labels can display promotional information for customers or product inventory information for store employees.
